Solid and professional April 29, 2010 J. Henderson (London) I bought this blender to replace a dualit one - that was really useless. I can't fault it. Solid, powerful and well built. It's slightly heavier than most hand blenders but not so much that is hard to use. I would recommend it to anyone.
Why Shrinking Violet Ended Up With A Kenwood April 13, 2010 Jim (Louth, Lincs) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Like others here, the lid of my chopping attachment fell apart on first use, revealing a tiny screw which was supposed to hold it together. What others do not appear to have noticed is the poor seal in the blender stick which allows food to pass up the stick. Unlike other blenders I've come across you can't wash the stick from the top - so food that gets in stays in. You might think it's clean, but a vigorous shake when you take it out of the washing bowl will produce a watered down version of your last blend. Wash it again and the same thing happens. Personally I don't much care for the idea of mixing the remains of last Christmas's venison soup with the walnut cream dip (exquisite) I'm making today.
I complained to "customer services" but other than the "we'll get back to you" reply, I'm still waiting after 8 days. [UPDATE: They finally replied after FORTY days telling me to contact someone else to get a replacement part. Shame I returned it 32 days ago.]
I sent it back, considered the Bosch, but ended up with a Kenwood which seems fine. Interestingly I see that top reviewer, "shrinking violet" also has ditched her Cuisinart in favour of a Kenwood! It seems that the 5 year warranty is unnecessary - you're lucky if these things last 5 weeks!
Very disappointed April 9, 2010 Don Quijote (London) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had such high hopes for this blender and indeed the blending shaft works well. My issue is with the chopping attachment:
-firstly, it doesn't chop as well as my old Braun (why don't you still make it, Braun?!)
-secondly, the lid is hopeless when you've got liquid in the chopper (even when it's well below the indicated "Max" level) and ends up leaking down the sides
-lastly, after two weeks (during which time I've used it 3 times), it broke. The attachment in the lid that connects to the chopping attachment fell off leaving a screw sticking out.
No doubt other people have had better experiences and I may have just been unluckly but for the price, I'd expect better quality.

I think there is a design flaw with the blending attachment: twice now the blade and spindle have become detached from their housing and I have had to return both machines to Amazon. The equipment looks solid and well-designed but a blending attachment which doesn't last more than a few weeks in normal domestic use is hopeless!
Quality item and it is professional finish February 24, 2010 Mark Bennett (Macon, France) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this to replace another blender. it was a good bit more than the average price but it comes with much more. You can chop, slice and dice with the attachments that come with it. The blender itself is really tough looking and should last a long time. it is very powerful but a bit heavy to use and longer than is convenient. The power cable is to my mind rather too flimsy compared to the blender itself but perfectly adequate. To sum up I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again as it is top quality at a reasonable price.
